Book of Days

new meme pinched from Kazzy Cee

Outside my window:  scheme garden with grass & two big protected ash trees

My thoughts... wonder if it's worth setting up a USA postbox [that forwards mail to you overseas], very useful but how often would i use it?

Today's Quote... "You can't win 'em all but you can sure try"

I am thankful for...  more things than i can count

What I learned this week...  that all of my damn relatives are on Facebook, but none of my old school friends

From the kitchen last week...
i'm still allergic to capsicum [red & green peppers] - severe stomach pains and smells like the sewers in Calcutta!!

I am creating (crafts, sewing etc)..  No, i'm really not - unless you count slapping make-up on the old tart

My adventures this week... (where are you going this week?).. Hardly call it 'adventures' :)  Committee meetings and going to see Chinese artist again at Central Library on Saturday [saw him at Fitzwilliam Museum on Sunday].

Becoming well read (What are you reading this week?)..  Already am well read! 5 library books still to read ['Her Fearful Symmetry' by Audrey Niffennegger, 'Magnificent Desolation' by Buzz Aldrin [finally!], two books by Justina Robson and 'Devil Bones' by Kathy Reichs] and a stack i've bought.  Just finished 'Even Money' by Dick Francis, 'My life in France' by Julia Child, 'The Awakening' & 'Frostbitten' by Kelley Armstrong &  'Bleeding Kansas' by Sara Paretsky.

I manifest and co-create (what are your hopes, dreams, and prayers this week)..  i want to scan photos to my pc so i can put them in the folders i've created for them online, mostly the China ones but some old ones for a friend

Melody (what music are you listening to? even if it's just the sound of a bird)..  nothing at the moment, can only hear my pc & fridge

One of my favourite things...  Cats

Goals reached last week...  Attended all my meetings & the Defend Council Housing conference in London, also visited the Fitzwilliam Museum, which i've been meaning to for ages - marvellous Netsuke collection

Things that made my week this week...  Ginger's three new kittens

Still life (share a picture you've taken OR a picture you found online that speaks to you).. Stained glass of St Elizabeth taken by Ulla - do you know the story?  She smuggled bread to the poor against the orders of her husband, the King and he caught her leaving. 'What have you hidden in your apron?' he said and she replied 'Roses' and she opened her apron, it was filled with roses...

-Didn´t know the story about the stained window ( just thought they were beautiful!). Thank´s for the story.
-You like Dick Francis too? That´s why I started to read books in English, they didn´t translate all of them to Swedish. RIP mr Francis :o( His son helped him finish some of the last books I think, or co write it...
-Creating crafts? Does photography count?
-Todays Quote: "Today I decided to live for ever, so far so good!"
-What are you reading this week? I´m trying to read some Cesar Millan dog psychology books for Bonnie, but she just isn´t the least bit interested.
- Outside my window: SNOW and more snow...
- My adventures this week: Photoshoot for the bookproject, hopefully. We need props that are in the mail, we also need lots of snow ( it´s melting!) Lets see how it goes.

i think your photos do the beautiful glass justice, and as you know, i love stained glass. St Elizabeth of Hungary, i should have said.
Yes, love Dick Francis. i have every book he's written except for 'Lester', his biography of Lester Piggot. He will be much missed. Hope Felix doesn't think he can carry on on his own.
Absolutely photography is a craft - highly creative and very skilled.
Like the quote, my philosophy completely!
Good luck with the dog psych!
Take care in all that snow, melting or otherwise!

I just posted a few more kittens pics. They are so cute, especially now that their eyes are open. :-)
