Greetings, Earthlings!
It's getting to be dinner time here 18.40 and i must go make some... pork mince defrosted - maybe a shepherds pie as i have carrots etc and it will go together fairly quickly and easily.
But before i do, i wanted to comment on something several people have said, that hardly anyone seems to use Livejournal now.  i guess it's who you are and as always, what interests you.  Oh you can find any amount of blogs on 'stuff' and people too, but i have to admit i only come on here now for a bare handful of people.  And even some of those have gone to other sites now.  We have had so much rubbish and put up with more over the time of the Russian take-over and so on, a lot of folk left in droves.  As long as the people i know stay here, i will too.
Many people just use Facebook now and i have always been concerned with the security of the site, the changes that have crept in and the inability to stay where you were; after a time what you used was simply deleted.  It didn't seem to matter how much you complained or what you said to try and make them LEAVE WELL ALONE!!  They just went their own sweet way.
i have never understood how anyone can bare their soul on such a public forum, especially the youngsters.  They don't seem to realise that they can be talking to someone who is not who they say they are - it's not a 16 yr old girl but a 45 yr old man, who's getting some sort of vicarious thrill and of course, the end result of getting inappropriate information and even hope of meeting this gullible person somewhere... We know this has happened far too frequently to simply brush it off.  NEVER put your phone numbers, address or anything that can be easily traced back to you - and it's not just the young, you can run all kinds of risk, burglary and worse.  Keep it light, general chat with friends and never show your front door if it has a number on it!  Especially if you say where you live.  My policeman's daughter instincts just shriek when i see some of the information shown sometimes.  i never play games or join in those sites that not only want all your information, but lists of you friends, their information etc, etc.  Makes me cringe.
On a lighter note, i'll put up some pictures :D

All wonderful apart from the gargoyle type which I find unsettling. :) LOL at that last.

I agree with all you say re Facebook. I'm far to open and trusting myself and should know better at my age.

How interesting you don't like the gargoyle. The problem with Facebook is that you don't know who you are talking to, and with kids they all think 'oh i'm so popular, i have 2000 'likes' or 'friends'. Unless they are family or people they actually know, NONE of them are friends. Main problem, they don't think at all - it's not a competition to see how many you can collect. Innocence can be deadly.
i don't 'friend' anyone i don't know; indeed, i don't 'friend' a lot i do know!
