Well, such goings on, my dears!
George, the Man from the Planning Dept came to look at the long-broken fence/s, but particularily the main big one, on Tuesday and came back again yesterday (with his camera this time).  The agents for the land-beyond-the-fence have FINALLY complained and the Council are now having to sort it out.  He says they will replace the whole fence - be still my heart!!
Will and the Scottish Ranger [can't remember his name, but he's lovely] came hot on his heels to hack back enough greenery to do said work.  Rob [one of Mathew's green team] also came over and had a look at the trees.  Turns out, they are now saying it's not his/their responsibility to hack them back [inspite of them doing it last time] and poor Will is stuck with it.  Will & SR set too with a will and got pretty much all the ivy off the fence in my front garden part of it and it looks bare-ly lovely!  They came back today to do the fence-damaging tree prune in the communal garden - and WHAT a difference! Amazing things, chain saws... They took out the dead tree and a low branch off another one while they were at it.  Great stuff, guys!
It still needs the buddlia [they have all finished flowering now] and the rest of the undergrowth chopping back around it but you can see how good it will be, when it's had its Autumn/Winter clear up.  *Soon please, before the rains set in?*
Have a wonderful weekend!

That's going to look a lot neater when it all grows back in the Spring isn't it!

It is, isn't it? George came back today with a person that i think is going to erect the new fence; they were measuring up all over the place. George thinks more of the tree will have to go, but we will see. i told him it will be better when the gardeners do the pre-winter tidy-up. Hope that will be soon!
