KazzyCee's '100 Questions' meme has been interesting, as always a window into someone else's life, and the last one is 'If you were presented with two buttons, one that allows you to go 5 years into the past, the other 5 years into the future, which one would you press?'  It is fascinating to contemplate what will happen, most of which you will have no control over.
It's only a five year jump, so not a huge amount and i have been living here close on seven years.  Not a lot that could or would change really, so the forward projection would be my choice.  Yes, you face the possibility that you could have snuffed it by then but at least you could have some control over how this happens etc and have a hand in your arrangements, as it were.  i'm assuming that we return to the present day after we have checked over this future time, as it would be pointless otherwise. You can't stay in that future as you would not exist. The only plus if you can't go back and choose the backward jump, you would add five years to your life, but you need to be able to keep hold of your memories, of course.
i would be more interested in a much bigger future jump, say 100 years or even longer.  i always want to get to the end of book and find out what happens!  i guess i want to know if we have cleaned up our act and have been looking after our planet or we're on the last legs of chaos and disintegration and extinct species.  i would like to think it would be a nicer, cleaner world but it's more likely to a cross between 'Blade Runner' and 'Split Second', both of which are Rutger Hauer films. With a touch of Vin Diesel's 'Babylon A.D.' thrown in for good measure!! :D
The Elephant Gate is in Copenhagen and the sea view is my favourite! The Ice is Antarctica.
