Bloody stupid Olympic lottery

i was talking about the Olympics yesterday and i thought i'd share this email i received a few days ago with you.

"Dear Jill,

Thank you for applying for London 2012 Olympic tickets. As you will be aware, we have started to allocate tickets and are now taking payment from Visa credit and debit cards, as well as banking cheques and postal orders.

The vast majority of payments will be taken by next week (31 May), with the entire process completed by 10 June.

We will contact you before 24 June to let you know if you have been successful and, if so, which tickets you have been allocated.

Second chance sales

There will be another chance to apply for tickets – we are calling this ‘second chance sales’.

If you have not been allocated any tickets in the initial process, you will have the first chance to apply for tickets. This will be followed by a further chance for those who were allocated some or all of their ticket requests."

What do you mean if i haven't been allocated tickets??????? This is all a frakkin' bloody joke!! And a very bad one at that.  So i might get one or two of what i asked for - or none at all?  How do they work the damn thing out?

i'm writing to the papers, going online to complain and screaming out of my front door if i don't get ANY!

And what kind of a Micky Mouse outfit is this when you can't buy a ticket for a whole day unless you pay for three sessions, at a minimum of £50 per session??  You'll get the seats that have problems with low flying aircraft and cloud cover for that price, so you might as well forget about it and watch it at home!

*wipes foam off mouth and departs to kitchen for large drink*

You have a very valid point there, sweetie! But just once i'd actually like to go, to savor the excitement of BEING THERE and i may not get another chance to go to the Olympics.
i'll only go for the first week [if i get the damn tickets] as Ginger can only do one week and i can watch all the finals etc of the last week on TV - much cheaper and in far greater comfort!
Guess your comment answers my question of 'were you coming over?', doesn't it... :)
