Was in two minds about going out to watch the Torch go past.  Finally decided that if my scooter had finished charging and it wasn't raining stair-rods, i would go watch.  And it had and it wasn't, so i toodled up there.
In half an hour it went from a few people to quite a lot.  i was pleased actually but there are people who should not be allowed out with a keeper!  Having been asked by the police, not to stand in the road but move back onto the footpath, quite a few - men - pretty well ignored them.  A couple actually stood in front of me, but she caught sight of my tiny presence on my tiny mobility scooter and went oops, and did move to the side.  Her male companion managed to block my view quite well of anything coming and i had to stand up to see a part of the road
Various support groups preceded the Torchbearers and i got a couple of shots of them, ignoring the 10 or so police motorbikes who were very popular and side-fived quite a few children, to their obvious delight.  Couple of large support vehicles came down, one was a bus carrying some of the Torchbearers who had done their stint but who were talking animatedly and hugging each other... sweet...  Then an open sided bus with a band and so on, and finally the Torch!  Talk about blink and you'd miss it!  Youngish guy and the side-runners who actually ran the whole route; i think there were 3 or 4 Torchbearers, including this guy.  Not a brilliant photo but i didn't get a lot of warning...

Well, i doubt i'll see that again in my lifetime, so i'm content.  i'll put up the other shots later but this is the money shot.

Very cool! I'm glad you saw that, have you posted it to your facebook?
And I hope you'll post (here or there) about the events you attend!)
