My Olympic photos July-August 2012

Okay, my Olympic photos are up on Flickr - Day 1, Archery at Lords Cricket Grounds; Day 2, Volleyball at Earls Court; Day 3 was a day off in Cambridge; Day 4 & 5, Women's Diving in the Aquatic Centre, Olympic Park.  All were preliminary rounds, with only the last day qualifying for the Semi-Final round.

i had to watch the Rhythmic Gymnastics on TV but i reckon that's better anyway.  i managed to tape the first day but had so many interruptions the second day, i didn't set the box in time - and missed it!  *tears out hair*  Oh well, i guess i can't have everything...  :(  But i did get the group all-round eliminations and final.

And got to watch Sir Chris Hoy get his 6th Gold Medal [cheered myself hoarse!], Tom Daley go through all the nail-biting-prelims to the final and get his Bronze [yelling encouragement at the screen like a teenager!] and some totally exquisite Dressage...  i'm so proud of Team GB and all they have accomplished.  THIRD on the medal-tally Board - YAY!!

i'm in the process of writing about it all - but that will take some more time.  i still have to finish the report on the Cambridge Folk Festival before i get on with this.  Took me a while to catch up on some sleep and i still have my life to arrange around all this; it's not been 2 weeks yet..but i'll get there  :)

Have a great weekend, all!

I'm sorry you failed to tape the 2nd day's gymnastics... but it seems like you managed to see a lot.... and do you think they'll ever put out a DVD or anything? Because I know a lot of people who would like to be able to see a lot more than they did.

We did very well considering. i don't know if they put out DVDs, it'd be a good idea, i think. i'd buy one of the Gymnastics for sure, if they showed heats as well.
We could ask on the FaceBook page, couldn't we?

It took some doing to get them, starting with one for Diving. Got the Volleyball in the second round and Ginger picked up the Archery in USA. Then the Disabled section emailed and said there were some available and i was able to get another day at the Diving. Would have preferred a Men's day, rather than two Womens but we took what we could get.
i was pleasantly surprised the organisation was really good on the ground. Mind you, they've had 7 years to plan it all.
It looked as though the Men's events were more popular across the board as they all went first.
