Daft as it may sound, it was only when i didn't get any post today or have our rubbish bins collected, that it fully dawned on me it was a public holiday!
i'd sort of brushed the knowledge a couple of times, it just hadn't sunk in.  You get that way when you don't have to work, y'know...

Finally done that nice A-Z Meme that's floating round - and a picture or two to go with it.  Loved the sink and could stand to look at it every morning, new Spock figure out in June, adorable foal, not-so-adorable shadow visitor, doilies made into lampshades, better than a glass bottomed boat, Sequoia National Park, gorgeous flower fabric and my favourite blue glass.

great list... and I feel the same way (that I really can't live with other people because I've gotten so used to having things my way)

I loved the pictures, I used to have a collection of blue glass, but I got rid of it all in one of my many movies (glass is heavy/bulky/fragile to move...).

And I want that boat! That looks like it would be so fun (but might be scary if I was in waters with alligators).

It's inevitable isn't it, that only the most irreplaceable stuff gets broken or damaged? And that often means glass, though i have to say, i'm pretty good at packing delicates now. Had LOTS of practice :D
At least the boat would show you where the alligators were!

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm GREAT at packing... but carefully packed glass ends up with big bulky boxes that need to be carefully (expensively) shipped and stored....
and basically they don't meet my 'must keep' priority list when doing a major move.

Pretty much only my computer equipment, favorite books, and all my clothes make the 'must keep' list. I did manage to get some $ for some of the antique glass I had collected (it is always nice to get rid of unnecessary things when you get cash! LOL).

Regarding the boat: I would just worry that the glass boat would show the alligators where I am (and make me look vulnerable to attack). I was canoeing w/a friend in Florida once, and we noticed an alligator's head raising up near us.... and then we realized he was longer than the canoe (and his mouth was almost as long as my arm) so we pulled away before we could look like lunch to him (we also got yelled at by the park ranger for getting too close to him).
