Monday 3rd June - Part III!!

Let's see if it will let me finish this time?!?!
There's several pretty little parks in Cambridge City and unless i take Norfolk/Gwydir Street way home, i cross Peter's Field back to Mill Road. All leafy now too - this footpath is one of the worst surfaced incidentally.  There's a shot of my ceanothis [sp?] bush that has decided it is definitely Spring!  And finally, how many snails can you count?  They were lurking behind a flagstone, so i chucked them out onto the grass for the blackbirds...  All now participating in the Spring Snail Derby to find shelter!

There's actually 8, one is sitting on top of another in the middle!

That is some impressive snail action... can you find a Frenchman to sell them to? /inappropriate French jokes>

We're having a rather cold day here... it has been a cold wet Spring so far. But I did get some sewing done (so that was good).

Hopefully it will warm up soon.

i Lerve inappropriate French jokes!
We've just had several days of blue skies and super weather. Been a bit cloudy this morning but i think it's clearing up again. About time. Spring has been SO late this year, we still have tree blossoms in June! Hope your weather has improved, sweetie

I love ceanothus - my neighbour had one that came over my fence and was gorgeous. Then she moved and the morons that moved in managed to kill it by pruning it back too much :(

Last year, the Council gardeners said mine was one of the best they'd seen. The bad weather we had then really affected a lot of them across the City. It is so sheltered here, all it needed was a trim across the top [the gardeners obliged with their hedge-trimmer] and cutting back out of the rose bush that it was threatening to swallow! i have cut it back a lot on one side, so i can get to my bedroom window but that's all i've done.
i wish the ivy pouring over the fence in the front would die from over-pruning!! i've just poured some poison on it, where it's trying to root this side. I HATES IT! i shall have to attack it with my matlock - honestly, you take your eye of this stuff and it tries to take over the world!

The California Lilacs (I can't spell either) are fabulous this year, they must really like this crazy weather. Lol at the snails. Did the birds eat them? They don't seem to around here, we have a real problem. :(

i can never tell the difference between lilacs and buddleas! Both are pretty and i know lilacs have a strong scent, but not sure if the others do. i had a look for snail shells but didn't see any. There were three snails hiding today and i chucked them on the grass. Maybe the blackbirds took them away to eat them?
