Wow, can't believe this year is going so fast!  Last day of September - did you watch the lunar eclipse and blood moon?  If you missed it, you'll have to wait until 2033 for the next!  The weather co-operated splendidly and i really did have a front row seat.  Totally fascinating and worth staying up until 03.45 in the blessed AM!

Haven't been doing anything out of the ordinary really, but my days zip by all the same. Cleaning, washing and keeping on top of the stuff that starts to accumulate in piles in the lounge & bedroom - what a slovenly slut i am!  i don't worry about it but just do bits here and there as i go.
i'm about to break my DVD player in the computer as it is playing silly buggers again.  Sometimes, it simply ignores the CD i put in to play and rip to my library and sometimes it behaves just fine.  i bought a double CD of the Band's Last Waltz and it took the first disc okay but although it will eventually acknowledge there is a CD there, my Windows Media Player is also playing the same silly buggers and refuses to play or rip the disc.  And as i have just treated myself to three Gordon Lightfood CDs, i'm not having a good day!
Having a crown come out at lunchtime kinda compounded the crap, although otherwise it hasn't been too bad a day.
i went down to Cheffins to check out this month's goodies up for auction as i'm always on the lookout for old/antique linens. None this month but there were a couple of other things that caught my eye [what a surprise!].  There's some nice copper stuff, which i have forbidden myself to bid for - where would i put it??  An adorable little mouse which will probably be way out of my price range, but it has been restored in a couple of places, so who knows?  There's a range of porcelain plates & large mugs, with an Imari plate and a rather large bowl [don't really want that, but you get all or nothing].  They are very reasonably estimated but you never know, this could be a come-and-buy-me price.  One or two other pieces that i won't get a look-in but a nice little collection of lace bobbins made of all kinds of things; wood, bone and ivory, that i might.  It all depends on who wants them on the day. Which will be tomorrow.
i'll be suitably distracted getting that crown put back in tomorrow morning and can check out how i'm doing when i get home.  Most of what i'm interested in is in the first 150 lots, and the next one is 266. The only other lot i've bid on is 484, almost at the end of the auction and won't come up until late afternoon.  It's a collection of 'Eastern' rugs; more than i need, truth be know, but come could be good.  i'll let you know how i get on. :D
Doctor has changed the type of metformin i take to a slow-release one, and we're hoping it will cure the intermittent diorrhea problem. We can but hope.  Change the subject!
It's been a lovely few days, not much cloud but cooler and quite chilly at night as the seasons start to change here.  i do like a four-season year, it's never boring - until you get the seventh week of unending GREY in winter!  Not to worry - put on lots of lights and wrap up warmly.
Some pictures to cheer us up. Forbidden copper!  Artist Calvin Nicholls cuts up paper to make this wonderful bear.
