Day started a little anxiously; not a huge amount of money left in bank.  With luck nothing else will be posted to my account today, so i'm crosslng fingers and my pension will go in Monday.  That's what you get when you buy delicious goodies at the auctions!  Talking of which, i took home what i could carry yesterday - a little bronze incense burner in shape of a dragon boat, an old silver-plate claret jug [bit beaten up but still lovely] and a collection of 4 owls [i have a friend who loves them too, so good for presents].  i paid for the couple of pretty rugs last night [that hadn't sold and i got them cheap] and included them in my trip to Cheffins today, when i went down to pick up the George lll chest of drawers [£80 and cheap at the price!].
The CofD is the perfect size for where i want it and i simply could not resist this mahogany beauty.  It replaces the one my Ma painted black, that i never liked and not only was it a little small but needed a touch up, which i've done now.  Frankly, i will be glad to see the back of it.  i'm donating it to BHF, who will collect it next week.  My bedroom is a touch crowded [!!] until then, but it will be worth it.

I luvs furniture! My sisters and I have a definite fetish. The carafe is gorgeous too. I'm down for a flat, I'm going to fill it with good stuff from the car boot. ;)

You're going to get a flat??? Finally! Delighted to hear it. What's going to happen to Mum?
Car boots are okay but you get better stuff - and usually in better condition (ie no woodworm!) from reputable auctions. My local taxi company will charge £25 for a round trip with a people carrier, loads cheaper than a carrier, who start at £45 for small stuff and jumping to £65 for tables etc.

Well, I'll continue to be here for Mum but at least my 'treasures' will have a home! I have to think of the future. :)
