i'm home...

Just dashed in to say i came home Monday 3rd November.
Knee operation apparently went very well, even though it really put my surgeon through his paces!  i've had a lot of reconstructive 'soft tissue' surgery as well as the actual knee replacement and it is causing me some gyp.  i have plenty of painkillers though, so i'm okay.
But i can only spend so much time here on the computer, though i've got my leg propped up, it's not hugely comfortable as most of the bruising is on the back of my knee & thigh.  i'm managing ok, don't worry about me - the most irritating thing is still having to 'do' for myself;  i'd recommend having someone at home or a lot of friends calling on a regular basis if you ever plan to have this done yourself!  It's just as well i did all that cooking, as standing up for any length of time over the next few weeks is not really an option.  Oh i can stand up for five minutes at a time but i tire so quickly.  Talking of which, i'm off to bed!
Take care, y'all!

Hi babe xx

Glad that they let you home earlier than expected... I know how you felt and I was shocked to see you up and about and walking as well as you were! Cut from the same stone aren't we babe x

I hope that the pain killers are enough for you and that you aren't just getting by? If you need anything ring me! It might take me a couple of hours but I can be there. Even if it is to be your chauffeur to and from hospital. I bet those bruises are out in force now! They were very nasty. Did you tell the physiotherapist to poke that horrible contraption where the sun don't shine? If you did I'm sad I missed it!

I'm also glad that you had some very lobely nurses taking care of you ... I end up with the menopausal old sours :)

Rest, recoup and relax .... I'll be down again to see you soon and then I'll raid your book and dvd collection!

Take care .. please

We all send you best wishes, loves hugs and plenty of healing thoughts

Hi sweets

It was great to see you on Sunday and thank you again for the newspapers & magazines, much appreciated! i restrained myself from doing the Pysio a mischief and didn't go on it again after i saw you. i was going home when i saw him next and i think he knew asking me to do one more session on it was going to be a no-go!
Thanks for the offer to chauffeur, but i don't go back for another 3 weeks to the Hospital and i should be a lot more comfortable sitting down by then, so taxis are fine.
You are welcome any time, you know that and a visit before Christmas would be good as i can give you the little pressie i got for Jade and you can raid away to your hearts content!
Love to you all

Thank you, darlin! *hugs back with smooch*

It'll take 4-6 weeks to come off these crutches - after just 5 days home, it seems like forever! But it will pass, it always does. i just have to keep walking and stretching and doing the exercises.

Take care, petal!

I can't believe you're having to do for yourself. That sucks, but I realise needs must. Sending vibes for a speedy recovery. You'll be like a spring lamb, gambolling about all over the place! :D

If you live by yourself, have virtually no family [cousins only up in Yorkshire], closest girlfriend is two hours away and have only been in town just under two years, you really don't have a choice.
i do have two neighbours who will post letters, put out rubbish for me and such and it is very sweet of them, as i've only been here since the end of June.
i only have a studio flat, so it's not like someone can come and stay for a few weeks, but i'm managing.
Thanks for the vibes, i appreciate every one!
i do hope you are in good health and getting closer to being where you want to be. Rooting for you, girl!
