Slow, cold day...  Slept late after a late 2.30am bedtime - worth it though!  Visit by me mate, Lise...

Saw this meme and decided to do it.

01. Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times.

Not ten but more than 5, yes – Aliens, Cool Money, Chance

02. Name a movie that you’ve seen multiple times in the cinema.

Dirty Dancing

03. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie.

James, of course, but Sean Bean, Sean Pertwee, Stanley Baker, William Petersen, Gary Sinese, Rutger Hauer…

04. Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie.

Tom Cruise, Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Mat Damon, whatisis name Mark Walberg? Any teen movie, most of the ‘comedy’ films and most ‘black’ films!

05. Name a movie that you can quote from.

More than I could mention!

06. Name a movie musical that you know all the lyrics to all the songs.

King & I, Carousel, West Side Story, Guys and Dolls and most of the major musicals made before the 80’s – and Rocky Horror Show, of course!

07. Name a movie that you have been known to sing along with.

Any of the above – but quietly, except Rocky Horror!

08. Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see.

To Kill a Mockingbird, Blade Runner, Fantasia, any and all of
Lotte Reiniger’s wonderful silhouette films

09. Name a movie that you own.

Way too many for that but I love sci-fi and have lots of TV series, CSI, Cracker, Rome, Torchwood, West Wing for just a handful.  Everything with James Marsters.

10. Name an actor who launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops.

Hugh Jackman – saw him in a televised ‘Oklahoma!’ playing Curly, with Maureen Lipman.  Also John Barrowman.

11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in? If so, what?

In Australia but cannot remember what I saw

12. Ever made out in a movie?

Not often, as I usually go to see the film – waste of money, otherwise!

13. Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven’t gotten around to it.

Quantum of Solace

14. Ever walked out of a movie?

Only once, usually stay and tear it apart…

15. Name a movie that made you cry in the cinema.

Recently, no but watched at home – Meet Joe Black [the music destroyed me!] and parts of ‘Edge of Darkness’ with the late wonderful Bob Peck

16. Popcorn?

More likely to be ice cream…  carton with a spoon!

17. How often do you go to the movies (as opposed to renting them or watching them at home)?

Very rarely now.  Used to go once or twice a week in my earlier days, rabid film fan… maybe 80-90 a year

18. What’s the last movie you saw in the cinema?

’P.S. I Love You’

19. What’s your favourite/preferred genre of movie?

Sci-Fi or a good Western or a very good Crime drama

20. What’s the first movie you remember seeing in the cinema?

Two actually – Disney’s ‘Pinocchio’ and ‘Tarzan the Apeman’ with Johnny Wisemuller!  The best Tarzan ever!!

21. What movie do you wish you had never seen?

’They came to Cordura’ – what a stinker! And that awful John Travolta Sci-fi turkey, don’t even remember what it was called!

22. What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?

Toss up between ‘Buckeroo Banzai across the 25th Dimension’ and the odd cartoon ‘Strange Planet’ – worst weird? The Russian ‘Solaris’.

23. What is the scariest movie you’ve seen?

’American Werewolf in London’ – I couldn’t walk down tube tunnels without looking behind me for months!  The most chilling film has to be ‘Fail Safe’ though.

24. What is the funniest movie you’ve seen?

One of the funniest was ‘Cat Ballou’ and any of the Road Runner cartoons!  No matter how many times I’ve seen them, they always make me laugh.

I'd love to see the Maureen Lipman/Hugh Jackman musical. She talks about it in her book.
